Jacques Picard is a belgian citizen born in Heverlee, near by Brussels, on mai 24, 1935.

He is a father of two and a grandfather of five.

He lives with his wife, Anna B. Graf, in a nice little village where the quiet environment allows the inspiration to awake.

He has an MD and a PhD and has been a successful professor at the University of Louvain (UCL).
He is now an emeritus professor of this university.

Scientific researches were also an incentive for searching other approaches to scrutinize the strangeness of human life.

As a result he started in 1979 a prolific artistic activity.
He devoted himself for several years to oil paintings.
Later he created a large population of odd figures and masks made of scrounged plastic flasks.

During the last ten years he uses large charcoal drawings to describe the human being with humour, sarcasms or tenderness.
